Application Note #3

Red Hat Linux with GRUB bootloader

December 12th, 2001

The GRUB bootloader used by Red Hat Linux uses a graphic 'splash screen'. This must be disabled in order to use the PC Weasel. To do this, edit the file "/boot/grub/grub.conf" and comment out the line beginning with the word "splashimage" by preceding it with a semicolon(;).

Example:

  Change

     splashimage /path/to/image/file

  To

     ;splashimage /path/to/image/file
